Gentle, evidence-based nutrition care for people who are tired of fighting with food.
ANCHOR is the clinical nutrition arm of Anchor & Apex supporting binge eating, emotional overeating, body image distress, and sustainable weight change without shame, extremes, or pressure.
This is a steady, collaborative process; not a quick fix.
15 minutes • no pressure • just a fit check
People come to ANCHOR for different reasons, but the need for steadiness is shared.
There isn’t one “typical” way to struggle with food or body image. Most people who work with ANCHOR recognize themselves in one of a few common patterns and often, there’s overlap.
The Cycle
Often marked by all-or-nothing eating patterns and a sense of losing control.
You might resonate if:
Eating feels all-or-nothing
Periods of “being good” are followed by loss of control
Shame shows up after eating, not relief
You feel confused about why this keeps happening
The Controller
Often driven by a desire for control around food, weight, or “doing it right.”
You might resonate if:
You’re “doing everything right” but feel exhausted
Your self-worth feels tied to food or weight choices
Letting go of control feels terrifying but holding on is painful
You want change without swinging to the opposite extreme
The Compressed
Often shaped by stress, overwhelm, and eating as a way to get through the day.
You might resonate if:
Food becomes harder when life gets overwhelming
You eat past comfort or disconnect without meaning to
You don’t feel “disordered enough” to ask for help
You just want things to feel calmer and more manageable
What ANCHOR is (and is not)…
ANCHOR is
• Trauma-informed, evidence-based nutrition care
• Collaborative and client-led, not prescriptive
• Focused on regulation, nourishment, and sustainability
• Grounded in clinical nutrition; not in trends
• A space where progress doesn’t require perfection
ANCHOR isn’t
• A diet plan or quick fix
• Macro policing or rigid rules
• A place for extremes or “all-or-nothing” approaches
• Weight-focused at the expense of well-being
• A one-size-fits-all program
The ANCHOR METHOD
ANCHOR follows a steady, collaborative approach to nutrition care; designed to meet you where you are and move at a pace that feels sustainable.
There’s no rush, no rigid program, and no expectation that you have everything figured out before you begin.
Discovery & Assessment
We start by understanding your history, current patterns, and what you’re hoping for from support. This includes a comprehensive nutrition assessment and space to talk through what hasn’t worked in the past and why.
Stabilization & Support
Early sessions focus on creating safety and steadiness around food. The goal here isn’t perfection, it’s reducing chaos, building trust, and establishing support that actually fits your life.
Ongoing Work & Integration
As things stabilize, we shift into deeper, individualized work. This might include refining structure, addressing underlying patterns, and strengthening skills that support long-term change.
Maintenance, Transition, or Ongoing Care
Some clients work toward maintenance and independence; others benefit from longer-term support. We revisit this together over time and adjust based on your needs, not a pre-set timeline.
This work is flexible, collaborative, and shaped by your needs, not a predetermined program.
What working together actually looks like
Care at ANCHOR is collaborative, paced, and responsive. Sessions are designed to feel steady, supportive, and grounded in real life.
-
75-minute initial assessment, followed by 50 minute follow-ups. All sessions are virtual, private, and unhurried.
-
Everyone starts at the FOUNDATIONS level, which consists of 4 weekly visits where we establish the unique journey you will go on.
Once through this phase, folks often remain in a weekly session cadence (MOMENTUM SUPPORT). This phase is where we begin to understand your relationship with food and yourself. There is no set duration that you need to stay in Momentum.
The next level of care transitions to a biweekly session cadence (STEADY SUPPORT). This is a self-empowering phase.
The final layer of support is the most relaxed cadence and is simply scheduled ad hoc when YOU need the support. This is a safety net layer of support (FLEXIBLE SUPPORT).
-
You’ll leave sessions with clear, realistic focus points. There will be no rigid meal plans or homework overload.
-
Struggle is expected. Care adapts. We slow down when needed.

ANCHOR is for people who feel stuck in a difficult relationship with food or their body. This can include binge eating, emotional overeating, chronic dieting, all-or-nothing eating, body image distress/body dysmorphia, or simply feeling exhausted by the mental load of food.

No. ANCHOR is nutrition counseling and education. While we may discuss stress, patterns, and your relationship with food, this is not psychotherapy and does not replace mental health care. However, ANCHOR counseling does pair very well with psychotherapy and I am more than happy to partner with your therapist and collaborate on your care.
-
No. Many clients don’t feel “disordered enough,” but still feel stuck, overwhelmed, or out of control around food. If it’s affecting your life, it’s worth getting support.
-
Not in the traditional sense. ANCHOR is not a diet plan or quick-fix weight loss program. Some clients want weight change, some don’t, but the focus stays on nourishment, regulation, and sustainable change without shame or extremes.
-
There are no rigid meal plans. Care is collaborative and personalized. Instead of prescribing a one-size-fits-all plan, we build steady structure and realistic strategies that fit your life. This includes all foods that you enjoy without strict restrictions. What I will do, however, is teach you about and share insights about the foods we eat and help you structure your days and weeks around the foods you enjoy without focusing on guilt and shame when eating them.
-
No. Tracking is NEVER required. If it’s been harmful or obsessive in the past, we’ll take a different approach. If it’s occasionally useful in a flexible, supportive way, we’ll decide that together and only implement it as a learning tool. If we do decide to implement a tracking aspect, it will be used simply as an educational tool rather than a safety net or cheatsheet.
-
It’s a short, low-pressure fit check. You can share what you’re struggling with, ask questions, and get clarity on what working together could look like. No pressure and no commitment.
-
There’s no preset timeline. Some people benefit from shorter-term support, while others prefer longer-term care. We adjust based on your needs, progress, and capacity, not a predetermined program.
-
That’s more common than you think. Struggle is expected here. Care adapts, and we slow down when needed. This work is designed for real life. The goal is always “PROGRESS NOT PERFECTION”.
